Just a quick something I did today. The X-men’s Rogue, playing baseball. The costume came from a super old picture I did. I just felt like working on something like this. I might try and draw it out with markers, we’ll see. I kinda like the weird fence thing I did, it kind of looks like a fence and kind of doesn’t.

2.5″ x 3.5″ Markers on Vellum Bristol

I went by Micheal’s on the way home from work today and picked up a sheet of transfer paper and some pre-packaged blank aceos. I like to draw my cards on scrap paper first and then transfer them to the bristol, because generally it looks cleaner. When I sketch I use non-repro blue pencils and that just don’t look right with the markers. I had tried to use my little light box for that, but I think it’s time for a new one.:(
Anyway, I’m kinda happy with this one. It’s a bit weird, because I did the sketch a little different. I actually sketched him on the computer in Photoshop with a tablet, which I almost never do. I hope to have a few more cards up over the next few weeks. I have one more x-men one and a few WoW cards too.

Working on coloring. She won’t be purple when I’m done, but I thought it’d look neat to post an in progress picture that was desaturated and recolored a bit. I’m working on cleaning up the line art and getting the final flat colors sorted before I start shading.

I’m not sure how well this fits with the theme, maybe I just have Panda’s on the brain. My initial idea for the topic was Sunglasses, but it ended up being a boring blues brother thing that I don’t even want to share. So from there I decided it would be the shade(s) of trees and after the reveal of the female Pandaren on Monday, well here we are. I’m going to try and drop her into Illustrator sometime soon and get some linework going. Perhaps I’ll color her in monochromatic shades.

I also want to try and be better about posting and getting IF topics up by Monday, but last weekend was my Birthday, so I was lazy. (I’m also going to try and post more than just images. At least a short description of what I’m thinking.)

Last weeks IF topic was yield. I’m not quite finished, but I really enjoyed the drawing, so I’m posting it as a WiP. This is Kal again, in a fight with a yield sign. I wanted to work on things I’m not quite so good at yet, so for this one I’m working on a fight pose.

I’m going to try and keep up with IF and post completed images on Monday.
